VKRP Training and Support
We provide a range of training options to help teachers, schools, and divisions prepare for and get the most out of the VKRP assessment system.
Preparing for VKRP - Online Training
The Virginia Kindergarten Readiness Program (VKRP) offers both online and in-person training options to prepare for VKRP.
The online training is available on the VKRP web portal, which is accessible via the PALS website to teachers, administrators, and division leaders. It includes five modules, each focused on a key topic:
- Module 1: An Introduction to VKRP
- Module 2: The Child Behavior Rating Scale (CBRS)
- Module 3: The Early Mathematics Assessment System (EMAS)
- Module 4: How to Navigate VKRP
- Module 5: An Introduction to Reports and Resources
Each module is available on demand and can be completed at one’s own pace.
Preparing for VKRP – In-Person Trainings
The VKRP team can support divisions preparing for the VKRP assessment with tailored in-person training(s). These sessions can involve training teachers or other school personnel on how to use and get the most out of the assessment system. VKRP also offers a Train-the-Trainer (TTT) option that allows divisions to build capacity by developing VKRP affiliate trainers who can train others within their division on the VKRP assessment system.
Data-Use Trainings
The VKRP team also provides in-person trainings on how teachers, schools, and divisions can interpret and get the most out of using VKRP data.
